The Nar'ket are a semi-nomadic people with a surprisingly advanced culture, filled with artists, philosophers, and scholars of reknown. Their society is highly structured and extremely complicated, though they seem immune to the bureaucracy that threatens to consume such societies among other races. Included in this system is a vast array of castes called the Doh'krah'vosh (A term that roughly translates to "the order of the divine plan"). Unlike other caste systems, the Doh'krah'vosh does not determine placement according to birth, but rather according to the auguries of the priesthood. However, there does seem to be some consideration for an individual's abilities and skills; throughout a young Nar'ket's life, he is subjected to a series of tests meant to determine his abilities and his place in the divine plan. Upon coming of age, the Nar'ket is then inducted into his caste and taught to fulfill his role in society. Also unlike other caste systems, there is very little inherent hierarchy; all castes are considered essentially equal, though they serve different functions, and even those castes that seem to have the greatest power are restricted. According to Nar'ket teachings, service is demanded of all, according to their place in the divine plan, and those who fill their role well are rewarded in the Nar'ket afterlife. Intelligence and strength are both encouraged in all castes.
The Sek'tir'am caste is known to outsiders as the "slave caste." Nar'ket within this caste are well-educated and their philosophy teaches the importance of loyalty to one's master. Because of their great skill and unwavering reliability, Nar'ket slaves are highly valued by outsiders.
